So it would appear that
Professor Hawking is a Trekkie! His appearance in "Descent
", Episode 252 of Star
Trek: The Next Generation, was great fun, finding him playing poker in the
Holodeck with Data, Einstein, and Newton. (Go to the media
section for a quicktime movie of his poker game.)
Then again in "All Good Things......", the final STNG, we find Data holding the Lucasian Chair of Mathematics at Cambridge University, the seat currently held by Professor Hawking. He has also written the foreward to "The Physics of Star Trek" by Lawrence M. Krauss, a book which is well worth reading.
